Returning Gleefully

So I just watched last night’s season premier of “Glee,” probably the most anticipated returning show of the season.  And I wasn’t disappointed. (PS- some minor spoilers to follow!)

I’ve always loved the show– but I felt like last season began to lose a bit of steam towards the end.  They became almost too self-aware of their own fame.  But I have high hopes for this new season, based on last night’s episode.  Sue was in top form, and we already have some intriguing new characters in Shannon Beiste and the football player (I forget his name– he’s played by Chord Overstreet though, which is the most ridiculous stage name in the history of stage names).  I do wonder if Sunshine will be back next week, though– if just Chord joins the club, the numbers will be balanced again.  Sunshine would make an odd number; 7 females, 6 males.  I had gotten the impression that Charice, the singer who plays Sunshine, was with Glee for a recurring guest spot, but maybe that’s only through her role as lead of Vocal Adrenaline.

Next week (I think?) is Brittany’s episode, featuring the songs of Britney Spears and highlighting Brittany’s character.  As always, she gets the best lines.  My favorite of the night: during the Quinn/Santana cat-fight, “Stop the violence.”

What did you think of the episode?  Favorite moments? Things you’re worried about?[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

I think my favorite Brittany line is “Did you know dolphins are just gay sharks?”

I love Glee.

I really enjoyed last night, Jane, and have high hopes for this season. I thought the Artie/Finn friendship looks promising, and I really enjoyed all the guys singing together.

And so far I’m definitely enjoying the new football coach much more than the old one.
