In spite of the fact that this UConn team is not as dominant as other Huskies teams that have competed in recent Final Fours, head coach Geno Auriemma has assembled a group that is coming into its own at a crucial time. One of the keys to their recent success—they haven't lost since Feb. 9—has been their defense, which has only allowed 50 or more points twice in that time span. In addition, star guards Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, who combined to score 46 points in the Huskies' instant classic victory over the Wolfpack, have been outstanding this season. The performance of senior guard Christyn Williams will also have a significant impact on whether or play tic tac toe not the Huskies are able to win their first national championship since 2016. As evidenced by her 21-point performance against NC State earlier this season and her team-high 20 points in UConn's Final Four loss to Arizona last year, Williams has generally excelled on the biggest stage in recent years.
