Normally, I’m a rock n’ roll gal. Or pop. Peppy country music is a favorite too. But I also love classical music. And when I am especially stressed, I love the sound of rain. I love the music of a quiet piano or guitar mixed with it. I love the sound of the ocean mixed with music as well. In other words I find water and quiet music very soothing.

The ideal situation would be to sit on the porch on a rainy evening listening to music with a glass of wine. When I can’t bring those circumstances about, Nature Quest CD’s make a nice substitute.

The one above makes for a relaxing wake up background. It’s restful to stretch to as well.

The one below is perfect for letting the day wind down.

What about you? Do you find nature sounds soothing or annoying? Do you ever listen to this type of CD? What soothes after a stress filled day?

This article is spectacular. It’s not everyday that we notice such awesome details over a blog article, not to mention on the web.

Classical music always relaxes me and I can read while listening to it.

I’m with Leigh on this one. I prefer quiet when I find the need to make time to relax. It’s great when a good book is available; but if it’s not, then quiet all on its own works for me, usually.

oops, it was the second one that had the geese sound. I like the first one!

Maggie the supposed geese (I guess that is what it was supposed to be) brought me out of the music everytime on the first one, but I really like the second one.

I used to spend hours listening to music filled with rain but we used that when my mother had chemo, so it brought back memories and I just got out of the habit of listening to it.

I tend now to just appreciate quiet. I fix a cup of international coffee, snuggle under my down comforter and pick up a good book.
