Welcome, spring!
Since this has been the darkest winter in Central Europe for many, many years, I can’t wait till spring starts. It’s not the low temperatures or the regular sleet that bother me, it’s the lack of light. So you can imagine my delight when I discovered the first harbingers of spring next to my terrace today! Aren’t they pretty?

I think those are Snowdrops or Snödroppar as they are called in Swedish.
Rike, those are very pretty flowers. But as someone who grew up in the desert, I recognize only things like oleander and common florist shop flowers like roses and tulips. So what are these?
Hasn’t been a super harsh winter in Seattle but it’s been dark and cloudy and rainy but sometimes sunny. I have seen daffodils blooming in the park. And lots of trees are budding.
Very pretty, indeed, Rike. This has not been a horrible winter here in the Detroit area, but it’s been a dismal one. I’m ready for more light and less snow and warmer temps. No such luck as you, though, to see harbingers of spring; except when I walked my dog the other day, the birds were in full song. So, I’m hoping that means warmer weather is just around the corner.
