Until We Meet Again…
This is a bittersweet post to write. I am announcing my departure from AAR, a site I have loved and worked for the past 11 years.
I have loved working here, writing reviews, editing, managing the ad program, interviewing authors, blogging, and getting to know many of you. But the time has come for me to move on and embrace new challenges.
I do so knowing that I am leaving AAR in the most capable of hands. I wish all the luck in the world to Blythe, Lynn, and their talented staff.
As for me, I’ll still be in Romance World since I’ll be adding ad design and social marketing services targeted to romance authors to my other advertising business. I’ll also still be on Twitter and Facebook as I always have been. I may even explore Good Reads since I haven’t found time to join in there yet.
I am grateful for the years I spent here and the wonderful experiences and friends I’ve made. I hope to stay in touch with many of you.
So, onwards and upwards!
For the last time, signing off as…
– Sandy AAR
Ack! What?! Huh?! I go out of town for a long weekend and one of the pillars of AAR leaves! How can this be?
All I can say, from the bottom of my heart, Sandy, is thank you for everything you’ve done for AAR and for me personally. You are a wonderful person who will be sorely missed by everyone who visited the site as well as those of who write for it.
Take care! My the road rise up to meet you!
Sandy, when I think AAR, you are one of the people that comes to mind first. So many of us will miss you. Best of luck with your future endeavors and though I’m not on the ‘net the way I used to these days, I do look forward to “”seeing”” you when life is less hectic.
Oh, this is so sad for readers, but I’m impressed that you are taking on new challenges. I appreciate everything you’ve done to make this the best romance site available. I hope we’ll hear from you from time to time.
I’m sorry to see you go, Sandy. Thanks for all your hard work over the years. AAR was the first romance review site I found, and I’ve discovered so many new-to-me authors through your reviews.
Changing your Twitter handle is surprisingly pain-free. I changed mine recently. You need to go into your account settings page and change the username listed in your username field. You can only change it to a handle not already in use by another Twitter user, but you’ll retain your existing followers.
See you on Twitter!
Sarah
It is never an easy decision to make a big change – I wish you great luck and happiness in your next chapter.

When I started to read this I kept saying “”don’t let it be Sandy, please don’t let it be Sandy””. Of course I wish you happiness but I’m so going to miss you.Love you. Kathy):
Hi Sandy, I can’t believe it’s already 11 years. Seems like yesteryear when I received newsletters from you and I feel like I ‘know’ you through the email even though I haven’t met you in person. All the best, Sandy! I will follow you via FB and Twitter although I hardly have time for both social sites. :D
Thank you for your work at AAR :-) May your new projects bring you lots of joy and satisfaction!
Thank you for all the wonderful posts through the years, Sandy,
Wishing you all the best in your future endeavours!
Good luck in your new endeavors Sandy!
I have enjoyed this site for about 11 years. I love the blogs and reviews. I mostly enjoy reading the thoughts of other readers who love romances and mysteries as much as I do. No one else in my family or close friends are readers and I feel a bond with all of you because we all love the same thing. A great romance! Thank you Sandy for working so hard to bring your love of romance to all of us.
I will miss your presence here, Sandy. Whenever I read one of your reviews, interviews or blogs, I always knew I would read appreciate your insightful comments and viewpoint. Thank you very much and great success in your future endeavors.

Thank you, everyone, for the kind words. I will, indeed, miss AAR, but I know in my heart that it is time to go. Vol Fan, my twitter handle is @SandyAAR. I’m trying to figure out how to change that without loosing all my followers.

What Jo-Ann W. said – Sandy, I know you’ll succeed brilliantly at whatever you decide to do, and AAR will still be amazing. But you will most definitely be missed.
You will be greatly missed Sandy! Thank you for your eleven years of making AAR so wonderful.
Sandy, best of luck to you and thank you for all you have done to make this site great. I can’t start my day without dropping by. I still miss Laurie and I’ll miss you just as much.

Thank you so much for the love and effort you’ve lavished on All About Romance over the years. I know you couldn’t contemplate this new step if you weren’t leaving AAR in great hands.
I hope you will consider joining Goodreads … and I’m glad you’ll continue to be a part of the wider romance world.
All the best in your future!
Janet
Sandy, you were a key element at AAR and you will be missed. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors. I selfishly hope that you will reappear here occasionally to share your ideas on books and the romance genre.
Sandy, I will so miss your presence at AAR, but I understand the need and desire to move forward into new challenges. I could always count on you for guidance and professional advice when I was in a quandary regarding a review. I wish you all the best in your new ventures and hope that you will keep in touch.
It’s very sad indeed that you’re leaving, Sandy, and I will miss your opinions and observations, and your reviews and articles. All the best with your new endeavours!
Thank you so much for all your hard work on behalf of AAR. Its a wonderful resource. Best wishes to you!
Thank you for helping make this such a wonderful (and informative) site for romance lovers. I hope all your endeavors are as successful!
Sandy, we did not always agree on books or ideas, but there were enough times when we did. But that doesn’t matter because I respected the fact that what you said you meant and I didn’t have to read between the lines. I did not have to second guess your thoughts for the most part. This is a good thing. Your opinions were yours to share. At the same time, you helped us all to share with each other here and I love this site. I hope you won’t be a stranger and do come back occasionally to chime in. I wish you nothing but the best in whatever you venture next.
Sandy, AAR has been very good to me over the years and I have always appreciated what the site has been doing for the genre. Thank you for all your work at AAR. I wish you all the best for your new ventures!
You were probably the first person I worked with directly at AAR, and I’ve enjoyed talking books and authors with you over the years. You will be missed here, but your new venture sounds like one perfectly suited for you and I hope it goes well!
Thank you so much for all the hardwork you have put in over the many years you have been here. The site won’t be the same without you. I hope not working at AAR gives you some relaxation time to do things you really, really love. Best of luck with and of course, happy reading!
A friend referred me to AAR about three years ago and I’ve been faithfully checking in almost daily ever since. I love the no fuss website, the smart reviews and the interesting blog topics. Thank you so much for all your hard work in making that happen. Good luck with your new ventures!
You will be missed here, but best of luck to you in all you do! How can we follow you on twitter?
So very sorry to read this Sandy, but I wish you the best of luck! I’ve enjoyed getting to know you over the years here at AAR, and respect and admire you as a person and for your work at AAR. You will be missed. *big hug* :)
We will miss you , Sandy! Best of luck to you! :)
As humans – at least for me, it is difficult to make a change even when all signs indicate the need or desire for it. But once the decision is made then the possibilies are exciting. I wish you the best of success in your new endeavor. And want to let you know that you will be missed here.
