I don’t know about you, but the Trans-Siberian Orchestra has seriously offended my musical sensibilities.  (You have to wait 20 seconds before it’s recognizable.)

Hello People! Just wanted to tell you that I bought tickets to Metallica concert on Jul 14th, event Rock The Hill. In this place you can find tickets for other dates too. This concert will be awesome, this is my second time and I’m still so excited about listening them live! On this page you can see the section where you’re buying the ticket, so it’s very recommended! Good luck!!

Goosie: Random side note: I LOVE the song Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. I’ve also decided that it’s going to be my wedding song.

It’s pretty awesome. I only started playing it because my student wanted to learn it, and it’s got some challenging bits to it. I really like the version with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (YouTube is my bestest, bestest friend).

I liked Carol of the Bells by them.

Goosie: I’m confused. Why offend?

:) All I mean is my musical feelings are divided. On the one hand, I shudder. On the other, I respect every musician’s right to interpret, and reinterpret, music in the way they feel best. Whether it’s Carol of the Bells or Carmina Burana (yup, Kim T, I’ve heard it, and my feelings aren’t any more charitable), or Beethoven’s 9th, or Nothing Else Matters by Metallica (and I heard an atrocious version by the Vienna Boys Choir – puh-leeze) … Anyway, the long and short is I can’t say it’s actually WRONG.

But I can say … yuk.

Kim T – I think the secret passion for hair metal is what’s missing. :) Although I am growing an appreciation for Metallica. Slowly, slowly. I’ll get there.

Have you heard their Carmina Burana?;) I’ve actually scene both renditions in concert. My parents (who are circa 60) and I and my brother and his wife all love TSO and have seen them in concert a few times. I think it helps if you have a secret passion for hair metal from the 80s;) I think it’s all in good fun and the musicians are especially talented. And sexy…David Z used to tour with them…he’s now focusing on his own band Z02 now that they have their own semi-reality show on IFC, Z-Rock. Some of their original Christmas-themed songs are absolutely beautiful. I love Old City Bar.

LOL! Talk about a loose rendition! Somewhere…Ludwig is scratching his head and saying…”Huh?”

It took me longer than 20 seconds, but I finally got it. Hmmm…. well, nice pyrotechnics.
