Snippets from RWA2014
Blythe and I had a great time at RWA2014. We both have interviews and insights to share and we will be publishing columns over the next few weeks sharing our encounters and experiences.
Here are a few shots from our week.
The conference was held in San Antonio at the Marriott on the Riverwalk. I’d never been there before and, I have to say, the Riverwalk is very cool. It winds through the downtown and, every night is full of people.
The conference ends with an big bang awards ceremony, the RITAs. The RITA awards recognize outstanding published romance novels and novellas. The award is a golden statue named for RWA’s first president, Rita Clay Estrada, and is THE award for excellence in published romance fiction. The ceremony is jam packed with authors and romance professionals. Awards go to each genre.
This year’s winner for romantic suspense was Carolyn Crane whose self-published novel Off the Edge is the first self-published romance to win this honor.
The award for best contemporary romance went to Molly O’Keefe for Crazy Thing Called Love.
RWA2014 was a magical experience. I can’t wait to go to next year’s RWA conference in New York City!
The last thing I did before leaving San Antonio was have breakfast with Blythe. Lucky me!

excellent publish, very informative. I wonder why the opposite experts of this sector
do not realize this. You must proceed your writing. I’m confident, you’ve a great
readers’ base already!

coverage! Keep up the superb works guys I’ve included you guys to
my personal blogroll.
Howdy! Quick question that’s completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My site looks weird when viewing from my iphone4. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to resolve this problem. If you have any recommendations, please share. Thank you!
So much fun to see you there! If you heard some fool woman screaming her head off when Carolyn and Molly won, that was me. :) I’m so excited and proud for the both of them!
Did you get to Boudro’s on the Riverwalk? My lunch there was the best meal I had all week. Loved it.
A RWA winner and AAR gave ‘Off the Edge’ an A. Now I’ve got to read it!
I wish AAR reviewed ‘Crazy Thing Called Love’. I’ll probably read it, it’s just I trust AAR more than RWA to lead me to excellent books.
Congrats to the winning authors. And Blythe, you look great!
