RWA 2009 National Conference Begins Wednesday
This year Publisher Lynn Spencer and I will be there. If you will be too, here’s our open invitation:
Please join Lynn, me and other AAR readers in the bar at the conclusion of the Wednesday, July 15th Literacy Signing.
The signing ends at 7:30 and, since we know you’ll want to spend as much time as possible meeting your favorite authors, we’ll start shortly after that – say 7:45 or so. Wondering how to recognize us? Lynn and I will have purple AAR business cards on the table. We’d love to meet you, so if you’re going to be there, please stop by.
As for our coverage of the conference, that kicks off on Wednesday morning. AAR Rachel set us up with Cover it Live, a cool platform that allows Lynn and I to tweet throughout the day, post videos, and pictures and – cooler, still – allows for reader comments as well. Look for the announcement and link to the page on Wednesday morning. We’ll also post blogs here when we can.
In the meantime, Lynn and I would like to ask your help.
If you could ask just one question of any author or any publisher, what would it be?
-Sandy AAR
Lee – re:anthologies – I forgot to put this in my blog, but I did talk to several authors about anthologies. Some were put together by publishers, but others were groups of authors who came together and then approached the publisher about it.
I’d like to know if authors at conferences like RWA hook up with other authors to create anthologies or is it strictly a publisher setup and has nothing to do with authors?
Do authors who are nominated for RITAs practice their “”oh, I’m so glad she won”” smile when their name is not called at the podium?
I would love to know how many books Karen Moning plans to include in her Fever series.
Thanks!
Authors: I would be interested to know how authors keep their writing fresh, especially if they have been in the game for awhile. What inspires them to find new and innovative ways to tell their stories that will set them apart from others in the genre?
Just yourself, Julia! Looking forward to meeting you. And, Tee, and Laney4, it will be fun.

Wish that were possible. That sounds like fun! Have a couple for me.
How do you make time to write during your busy day(s)? (Do you have a certain time set aside on certain days OR do you take what you can get?)
Sandy, for signing authors, is there anything special you would like us to do or bring?
