One of the things I find fascinating about this list is how many of us read—or reread—older books. Ebooks make that easier, I think. You can find old books that way, even if they are no longer available in print.

Ebooks have been a boon for the reader and the authors in so many ways.

For example, for years many of Carla Kelly’s out of print older paperbacks were selling on the used market for $20-$60 a piece with not a penny going back to her. Fans who discovered her years into her career didn’t have a chance to get a reasonably priced version of so many of her works.

Thanks to ebooks and the rights to older books reverting to the authors after they were out of print she now sells the same books self published as ebooks for as little as $2.99 and actually gets a share of them.

There are countless other authors who have also had this opportunity or were able to get back characters and storylines that publisher’s “owned”.

I’ve been steadily replacing my well loved but deteriorating paperbacks with ebook copies over the years. I’m always on the lookout for a good ebook sale.

How great that so many people took the quiz!
I found it very hard to pick just one of anything. Too many great choices. I kept telling myself that it’s not that serious and forced myself to choose something for each category.
I think it’s a lovely thought that each of the books mentioned here have been greatly enjoyed by someone out there during the last 12 months.
Like Chrisreader, I’ll be using this for reading recommendations for sure.

Fun list! I got caught up yesterday and didn’t get a chance to take the survey so for once I’m not the one posting “Joanna Bourne” as the answer, lol.

I’m definitely using this for some reading recommendations.

I could also have gone for several other titles – I’m always terrible at picking favourites and they usually change from day to day!

I answered with Common Goal, by Rachel Reid (I’ve read it twice already & am currently listening to it!) – but I forgot so many other terrific books! Seconding votes for the Vane and Vincy & Morton and Ashe. I’ve had a pretty great reading year.

I didn’t put multiple titles in for my favorite of the year, but I would love to add the A Charm Of Magpies series by KJ Charles! First book, The Magpie Lord.
