It’s a name that’s been applied to Adele by more than one person. Beyonce has said that listening to her music is “like listening to God.” She’s actually been quietly around for a couple of years, but her new album 21 has broken all sorts of records and keeps knocking industry leaders down the charts — people like Rihanna, Lady GaGa, and Katy Perry have lost top spots to Adele.
Her music truly is a revelation– soulful, emotional, sincere, and absolutely gorgeous. It’s astonishing to me that she’s only 22. “Someone Like You” is my favorite song off of 21. It’s the antithesis of “Rolling in the Deep” (above), both in tone and emotion.

I’ve heard of her since ’19’ but I was blown away by her performance on the Brits a few months ago and that’s when I really started listening to her. I highly recommend you track down a video of that performance. She got a well deserved standing ovation.
I heard “Rolling in the Deep” on the car radio during my commute home one day and was blown away. I didn’t hear who the singer was, so when I got home I asked my sons about “the song that begins with something about a fire in the heart”. Of course they knew who it was right away. I’ve now got the “21” CD in my car and listen to it a lot — unlike some CDs where the only worthwhile song is the hit you fell in love with on the radio, this one is filled with great songs. In addition to the ones mentioned by others, I also like “Turning Tables”.
I just discovered her music about a month ago, and she’s amazing! I’m telling my friends and co-workers to buy her album she’s that great. Both “Rollin in the Deep” and “Someone Like You” are on repeat on my ipod. She’s truly an artist and she has the talent to back it up.
Unbelievable! Thank you for sharing these. She’s terrific.
