Happy 4th!

white8 In addition to recovering from a fun and fast-paced RWA 2011, today is Independence Day for all of our American staffers and readers. So, while the reviews are updated, today we’re going to take a little break on the news blog and celebrate the holiday. Happy Independence Day to all of our American readers, and we hope everyone overseas is having a wonderful Monday as well!

And one last thing: Without any prompting from me whatsoever, several people all mentioned the same thing to me at RWA so here’s my little message of the day –

BRING BACK COLONIAL AND REVOLUTIONARY WAR ROMANCES!

I enjoy spending as much time as I can between the covers of a book, traveling through time and around the world. When I'm not having adventures with fictional characters, I'm an attorney in Virginia and I love just hanging out with my husband, little man, and the cat who rules our house.

For the revolutionary war, and the civil war romances: can I recommend Elswyth Thane’s Williamsburg series? It’s excellent – a sort of mild romance, with a lot of history intertwined.
