Geraldine Meets Harry!
A few weeks after I first posted about my recent discovery of The Vicar of Dibley, my local PBS station dropped the show. I couldn’t believe it.
Thanks to comments from AAR readers, I now knew that Geraldine (played by the marvelous Dawn French) eventually meets, and marries, Richard Armitage (well, the character he plays). I began watching numerous clips of the show on YouTube, But it wasn’t quite the same.
I decided to keep the series recording set on my DVR, just in case my PBS station put the show back on. A couple days ago I was checking through my saved records, and there it was. The Vicar of Dibley was back, and I now had a new episode to watch, entitled, “The Handsome Stranger.” Wonder of wonders, my PBS channel started the series back up again with the show in which Geraldine meets Harry!
I can hardly wait for the next episode.

Heh, this thing is way too funny. I need to share it.
What was the models name? In the life art class that posed nude???
Both episodes with Harry are SUCH a treat. I ADORE Richard Armitage and it’s great seeing he can do comedy so well (along with drama in North and South and dastardly – yet strangely appealing villains such as Guy of Gisbourne)
Thanks to Gail for the Netflix tip. My sister has a Netflix account and I’m gonna get her to order the series for me. I discovered the show in the middle, and if Netflix does indeed have them, I’m going into a Vicar coma until I see the entire series :)
Gail, I hadn’t checked DVD availability until you suggested it. My library doesn’t have them according to their online catalog, but they are available for sale at Amazon. However, I’ve been thinking about rejoining Netflix, and this will definitely be a point in favor of that. Thanks!
Have you checked DVD availability? I know Netflix has these, it’s worth checking your local library as well.
I can’t wait to see the next episode, Rachel. I just adore all the characters in the series. There were so many funny parts to this episode. Loved Alice’s solution to the Da Vinci Code. And the men in the art class? Even though I knew that was going to happen, it was still hysterical.
This is a great episode! So, so funny. The next one is awesome too. I watched them both with my sister and we laughed and laughed, and I’m going to get A Holy Wholly Happy Ending for her for Christmas.
