Favorite (Slightly Raunchy) Love Songs
George Michael’s proved to us with I Want Your Sex that a come on song isn’t exactly a love song. Some of those songs can be incredibly fun like Candy Man by Christina Aguilera or Come On, Eileen by Dexy’s Midnight Runners. It’s pretty clear what these folks are celebrating and the information is given to us straight up, no pretty wrappings or flowery innuendo required.
Some songs add a little love to their come on. Here are some of my favorites.

Three great songs from the Afghan Whigs album 1965, “Somethin’ Hot”, “66” and “John the Baptist” are three of the sexiest songs I’ve ever heard and I use to play them on repeat. Greg Dulli’s voice drips sex!
Matt Nathanson’s “Come On Get Higher” is a beautiful (and raunchy) love song.

John Mayer’s “Your Body Is a Wonderland” is a good one, too.
We were just talking about this yesterday. My teen years were full of raunchy songs that made the top 40. Rod Stewart’s “Tonight’s the Night,” Bread’s “I Want to Make It with You,” the Raspberries’ “Please Baby Go All the Way,” even of course the song we all sang the chorus of as loud as we could, “Lady Marmalade.”
Today, I love JTX’s “Love in America,” Addicted” by Saving Abel, and Chris Young’s “Getting You Home.”
