Earworm of the Day – Dance Me to the End of Love (The Civil Wars)
It seems like the songs which get stuck in my head rank among the world’s most annoying. So, when something as hauntingly gorgeous as this rendition of Dance Me to the End of Love lodges itself in my brain, I just have to share. I’ve heard other versions of this song, but I think I’m liking The Civil Wars’ take on it the best. Enjoy!
Maybe it’s because I just got back from a vacation in Madrid, but I liked this because it reminded me a bit of Spanish music — the guitar and the rhythm and the melancholy.
This is a really good version of one of my favourite songs. Lovely voices and very melodious.
But having heard Leonard Cohen perform his own song live in Montreux, I must say that that was the best version I can imagine. Perhaps because Cohen’s performance was somehow rougher and made you listen to the words more.
Really enjoyed that Lynn. Thank you!
