Eagerly Awaited in August

As I began preparing our table of eagerly awaited August releases, I noticed something I’d been seeing over the past several months. There have lots of books getting AAR staffers excited lately. And some of them are drawing attention from almost all of us. Considering that the various reviewers at AAR have vastly different tastes, this is no mean feat. Still, we’ve been seeing exciting books in pretty much every subgenre of romance and I know that lately I’ve been feeling ever more energized about reading again. So, what do you want to read in August?

I love historical romance and this month has some real treats in store: Elizabeth Hoyt, Loretta Chase, Tessa Dare (not long on the scene but already an automatic buy for me) and Eloisa James, not to mention the incomparable, wonderful exciting Anne Stuart!! Bring ’em on!

Definitely J. Frost’s new book, I’ve loved everything by her so far. And I’ll probably read All I Ever Wanted by Higgins, even though she’s been hit-or-miss for me. Sureblood by S. Grant is on my list, although I’ll probably work through more of her backlist before I start this one( just read, and enjoyed Star King and Star Prince).

I’m also looking forward to:
Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie
Hot Finish by Erin McCarthy
Just One Taste by Louisa Edwards
Parallel Fire by Deidre Knight

So looking forward to Elizabeth Hoyt and Loretta Chase’s new books. I didn’t know Kristan Higgins had a new one, she is also an auto buy for me. Excited to have some great reading for my vacation!

Wow! That really is a great list. I don’t keep up with release dates or author blogs, so I am very excited that some of my favorite authors are coming out with books soon. I am excited about 6 of these.

@library addict: Yes, Veil of Night is out August 10th. I’m looking forward to it, but not eagerly awaiting.

And I can’t believe I’m the only one anticipating Eloisa James’s new book with bated breath.

Did I spy a new title by Anne Stuart? Be still my heart! And in the same month as Elizabeth Hoyt…you’ve got me very excited.

I’m looking forward to Sureblood by Susan Grant and Water Bound by Christine Feehan.

And though I’ve been disappointed by her books a lot lately, I am also looking forward to reading Linda Howard’s Veil of Night. Isn’t that still due out Aug 10th?
