Eagerly Awaited April Books
Sarah Mayberry, Carla Kelly, and Kristan Higgins all have many fans among our staff and since they all have new releases coming out in April, we were looking over that April release list with anticipation. If you are one of the many fans of the Pennyroyal Green series, you will be delighted to know that the latest installment is due that month. I’ve just read Nora Roberts’ newsletter and she says the following:
“”Since my publisher moved Shadow Spell up from the end of April, I’ve got two books coming out in quick succession. Shadow Spell is in stores on March 25, while The Collector – this year’s single title romantic suspense – debuts on April 15″”.
So there are TWO Nora Roberts books next month:
-Shadow Spell 25th March
-The Collector 15th April
It surprises me that you don’t even mention these books.
I have enjoyed every Sarah Mayberry book that I have read so far so am looking forward to this one. 9 reviewers signed up ? How do you decide?
We’re given a link to the new releases and are asked what we’re eagerly awaiting. Looks like a lot of us are really hooked on Sarah Mayberry’s books.
Just curious: does the link to new releases always leave out the last Tuesday of the month, and maybe why?

If I understand correctly what you are asking I don’t have an answer per se, but I understand that books released on the last Tuesday of a month are considered to be a part of the next month’s books. It is confusing, and I don’t know why it so, but that’s what I heard.
Opps Sorry you already know that. Like I said, I don’t know why a book month is counted that way… one of life’s mysteries

You’ve probably already answered this question (many times?) before, but why does the last Tuesday release date of each month show up in the next month’s list? For example, why is the March 25th release of Long’s new book listed for April? Could it be because of publishers’ budget calendars to get better monthly sales figures?
I think in April we will have the reissue of a classic: Laura London’s ‘The Windflower’. And a stand-alone novel by Nora Roberts: The Collector.
I’m not very fond of paranormals, so I don’t know if my data are correct, but I though that these paranormal romances are going to be released in April:
Jennifer ASHLEY: ‘Wild Wolf’
J. R. WARD: ‘The King’
Sherrilyn KENYON: ‘Illusion’ (although I’ve seen this book considered more a Fantasy novel than strictly paranormal)
I’m probably most looking forward to reading Meredith Duran’s _Fool Me Twice_, along with Jule Anne Long’s new release, though I was a little disappointed by the preliminary reviews here.
I’m also waiting for Duran’s Fool Me Twice, which has been eliciting “OMG – so good” comments from people who got their hands on advanced copies.

I have pre-ordered the Lynn Flewelling. I understand that it’s to be the last of the series. I already have all the other volumes in book form. She certainly took her time over the series, but her characters are so compelling that one can hardly forget them in the interval.
Several of the other new books seem worth trying, notably the ones by James, Allen and Beverley, all old favourites. Yet even there I tend to look before I leap these days. I can scan through their electronic samples very quickly, and within the first ten pages I usually know if I want to order them. The harder decision can be whether I want them in paperback or electronic form. While it is more convenient to just go on reading on my Kindle, I might order the paperback if the e-book is priced too high, in comparison. Sometimes both versions seem too expensive in a world of infinite cheap and free books on offer, and I regretfully pass ….
I make a point of trying several new to me writers too, every month (including self-published works) and when I get around to it, I write reviews for the ones that I truly like or hate.
For a voracious reader in several genres this is a wonderful time. My book budget goes a lot further, and I never run out of fresh reading material, even when travelling in remote countries without physical bookstores. The ongoing publication of backlists from many authors as Ebooks is an added bonus.
