Are you looking for a historical romance novel with an unusual and original plot? Shelly Thacker’s Timeless is the book for you. This is a most enjoyable and intriguing tale about 22 year old Avril de Varennes and her 300-year-old Viking warrior, Hauk Valbrand. That’s right, three hundred years old! (No, this is not a time travel – you’ll have to read for yourself to find out how it’s possible).
Timeless is set in 14th century France. Avril is a young widow who one day finds herself “accidently” removed from her home, her family, and her daughter to a mysterious island populated by Viking warriors. Of course she ends up married to the biggest, stubbornest one of them all, Hauk the vokter (protector) of the island inhabitants. Despite their best efforts to avoid falling in love, Avril and Hauk’s relationship seems destined – they were sharing erotic dreams before they ever met!
Thacker appears to have great potential as a writer; she twines love, angst and humor in that seamless way that kept me smiling, sighing or getting teary-eyed at least once a chapter. Thacker created a particularly funny (and sensual) scene involving a wolf, a horse, and a pine tree that will leave me with fond memories for some time to come. The only complaint I had was that I would have liked a little more passion within the story. Aside from the vivid descriptions of Avril and Hauk’s shared dreams and one “good-morning” scene inside Hauk’s house, Avril and Hauk never quite reached the levels of titillating intimacy I like between two well-matched characters within a well-developed storyline.
However, I really liked the ending. Don’t worry, Avril and her daughter are reunited, but I don’t want to give anything else away. So, if you’re looking for something new, something captivating, and above all, something unique, check out Shelly Thacker’s Timeless.

I don’t think anyone expects you to post UK prices – it’s just a shame that such a great sale…
I’m sorry about that. We don’t have any way to post British prices as an American based site.
