SEAL's Honor

TEST

I can’t quite decide if SEAL’s Honor wants to be a bog standard contemporary romance or a romantic suspense because it flirts with both. The result is enjoyable, but perhaps a touch forgettable. I’m eager to see where Ms. Crane goes with the series, because I think getting to know Blue’s compatriots might help me settle into the world a bit better.

So who is Blue and what is that world? Blue Hendriks is a loner and damn proud of it. After exiting military service, he and several former servicemen set up a business in the middle of nowhere Alaska that’s a kind of search-and-rescue/security consultancy situation. He’s not too pleased when a girl he knew growing up crashes their compound to ask for his help.

Everly Campbell is desperate and convinced Blue is the only person who can help her. Her roommate was murdered, she claims, but then the corpse disappeared and now Everly knows whoever is behind that will be after her. She needs Blue to help her track down the culprits.

Along the way, the two fall for each other – Everly isn’t a little girl anymore, after all – and solve the mystery. Their chemistry is solid, if a little confusing since I never fully understood Everly’s hankering for Blue. The overall package, however, is entertaining and if you’re a SEALs fan, then this is a good one.

  1. excellent book: interesting, funny dialogs, deep understanding of each character, interesting secondary characters, and also sexy.

Voracious reader, with a preference for sassy romances and happily ever afters. In a relationship with coffee, seeing whiskey on the side.
