TEST
In this best-friend’s-little-sister tropey tale from Liza Kendall, Julianna Holt is furious to hear that her brother has sold their family horse farm to his billionaire friend, Rhett, without even consulting her. Adding insult to injury, she’s been in love with Rhett for years and they recently had a one-night-stand. Rhett is ready to head back to his hometown and mend some emotional fences, but the hiccup of having Jules in the picture is certainly something to sort through. Her hostility is thick, and he’s got work to do. Will they find common ground in the hot Texas sun?
First off, a note about names. In the text itself, the family name is Holt, but on the back cover and in the published summaries, it’s Riggs. I read an advanced review copy, so I’m not sure what the name will be in your edition and I went with the one in the text for this review.
For me, Home with You just never quite got going, nor did I really warm to any of the characters. A lot of the plot conflicts – especially between Jules and her brother Grady – could have been solved with some difficult but necessary conversations. Instead, Jules comes off at times like a petulant child and at others as the completely misunderstood hero of the story. I could understand Rhett and Jules together, especially when you add in the mutual pining that has been occurring for several years, but it just never…. I was never fully invested in their happily ever after.
This one is fluffy, if a little shallow, and the world is a dumpster fire at the moment, so if you’re looking for pure escapism, this one might work – especially if you’re looking for a rancher romance with the woman as the rancher – and I’m disappointed it didn’t do so for me.

This sounds delightful! I’m grabbing it, thanks
excellent book: interesting, funny dialogs, deep understanding of each character, interesting secondary characters, and also sexy.
I don’t think anyone expects you to post UK prices – it’s just a shame that such a great sale…
I’m sorry about that. We don’t have any way to post British prices as an American based site.
I have several of her books on my TBR and after reading this am moving them up the pile.
That’s a shame – I really liked the other book of hers we reviewed!
