Fire on the Ice

TEST

Given the deluge of fantastic m/m fiction coming down the pike lately, there has not been nearly as many f/f books that have been getting attention. Fire on the Ice should be getting loads of it, as it is a whip-smart, sexy as hell, compelling novella about two women who are willing to risk themselves to be together.

Blaze Bellamy is short track’s resident bad girl. With her larger-than-life personality and public bisexuality, Blaze is no stranger to being the center of attention and doesn’t really understand why anyone wouldn’t want to live in the spotlight. Maisy Harper can answer that question for her. As the workhorse of the Canadian women’s figure skating team, Maisy enjoys routine, hard work, and the shadows just fine. At the last SIGs (Snow and Ice Games – fictional Olympics), the two hooked up and Maisy has not been able to get Blaze out of her mind since. A public liaison is out of the question, but so is no liaison at all.

After a sudden, super hot kiss in a bar, the two take their relationship behind closed doors and the writing takes off like a rocket. Over the next hundred or so pages, we get to watch these two women wrench their souls open as they explore each other’s bodies and boundaries. They’re falling deep and hard – we know it before they do and it’s so much fun to watch. For each of them, there comes a point in the book where they have to decide who they, as a woman, are and then how that fits into the couplehood they’re building, and I grinned so hard when they figured it all out.

Sports romances are a dime a dozen, so finding a distinct one can feel like a challenge. Well, dear readers, Ms. Parker said ‘challenge accepted’ and gave us Fire on the Ice. If you’re into f/f, serious sexy times (the sensuality rating is hot for a reason y’all), and two characters so vibrant that they leap off the page, then one-click this immediately.

  1. excellent book: interesting, funny dialogs, deep understanding of each character, interesting secondary characters, and also sexy.

Voracious reader, with a preference for sassy romances and happily ever afters. In a relationship with coffee, seeing whiskey on the side.

Thanks for this review. It’s not often we see f/f romances being reviewed outside the more lesbian oriented forums/blogs/websites.

Glad you enjoyed! I’ve had trouble finding f/fs I’ve loved, so this was a welcome joy.
