Big Bad Cowboy

TEST

Travis Blake used to be an institution in Big Verde, Texas, until too many things went wrong and he hightailed it outta town with no plans to return. Until he got the phone call that his brother had landed himself in jail (no surprise) and that there were no other kin to care for his son. So now Travis is an instant-father to an elementary aged child who has never really known stability, a ranch that desperately needs attention, and few resources with which to do either.

Maggie doesn’t really know Travis, but she knows she hates him. She’s been building her landscaping business for years in Big Verde, and here he comes sailing in as competition! The nerve of him! But then, they get forced to work on the same contract and she starts to notice things. He’s kind and a hard worker. He’s great with his nephew. He goes out of his way to make other people’s lives better.

Conveniently for Maggie, Travis has notice her too and before long they’re building a life together. This enemies-to-lovers tale is a lot more about not knowing the other person instead of one of the people being genuinely terrible and then repenting. It’s sexy and sweet, feels completely grounded in reality, and I enjoyed it very much.

This one is definitely recommended for anyone who is looking for a good enemies-to-lovers tale about two people doing their best and learning to love each other.

  1. excellent book: interesting, funny dialogs, deep understanding of each character, interesting secondary characters, and also sexy.

Voracious reader, with a preference for sassy romances and happily ever afters. In a relationship with coffee, seeing whiskey on the side.
