Trope alerts: frenemies to lovers and marriage of convenience. Those two tick your boxes? Then, to be frank, you can skip my review and go to “buy now” because this one is a fabulous example of both tropes and how they can work together. Indifferent on them? Then let me try to convince you otherwise.
Stefanie Ferguson is the youngest daughter of a Dallas political family and the one always causing trouble, rarely through any fault of her own. The latest scandal involves an ex, but it’s essentially the last straw for her public figure brother. Changes, he decrees, have to be made. Enter her sister-in-law, who is also the family PR consultant, who suggests a quiet marriage of convenience. Surely in Stefanie’s vast social network there has to be one fellow worthy of the project and who will help Stefanie project an air of settling down and taking life seriously.
It turns out there’s not.
Also cooking along in the background is an annual Christmas party she throws in San Antonio and will not give up despite the publicity. Her brother’s solution is to send Emmet Keaton, his best friend and head of security. While this initially annoys Stefanie to no end – Emmet’s an annoying grump – she gets an idea. What if Emmet was the husband?
Emmet is not super thrilled about his new assignment. Stefanie is annoying and flighty. Sure, she’s hot, but she’s his best friend’s little sister and he has no time for her schenanigans. Until they get to San Antonio and he discovers it’s not a socialite Christmas party at all. She’s just been using that as a cover to provide a dream Christmas dinner for under-resourced people. She begs him not to tell her family – this dinner is not a publicity tool – and he begins to see the human underneath the wrappings. So, he agrees to this marriage.
And then…
Well, you just have to read to find out, don’t you?! It’s a Blaze title, so the sex is steamy and athletic. If you’ve read the two previous books in Ms. Lemmon’s series, then the family scenes will be richer for you, but if you haven’t then you won’t be lost. Like I said up top, this book is just a ton of sexy holiday fun. One-click and enjoy.

excellent book: interesting, funny dialogs, deep understanding of each character, interesting secondary characters, and also sexy.
I don’t think anyone expects you to post UK prices – it’s just a shame that such a great sale…
I’m sorry about that. We don’t have any way to post British prices as an American based site.
I have several of her books on my TBR and after reading this am moving them up the pile.
