Death’s Excellent Vacation
When I first read the title, it immediately evoked an image of Terry Pratchett’s Death wearing board shorts and flip flops, a towel flung over his scythe – so how could I not read the anthology? The fact that most of the authors were unknown to me was an added bonus, and was hoping for triply fun, considering I read it while on vacation. Quality, I got, overall. But fun? That’s where the stories widely differ. In the interests of (relative) brevity, I’ve reviewed only the major authors and the best stories – and it goes without saying that the two are not mutually inclusive.
