Animated cartoons
I’m not quite sure why, but the days before and just after Christmas are the perfect time for me to watch animated cartoons (is that the right term to use?). Somehow it’s the perfect moment to snuggle under a woolly blanket on the sofa, pick up the remote, and start watching a cartoon on the TV or from a DVD. There may also be some Christmas chocolates involved …
This year, I started the round with Horton Hears a Who!, which a friend lent me and which I thought adorable.
Further on the to-be-watched list are Up, the first Toy Story (hard to believe, but I’ve never watched it!), Ice Age 3, Coraline, and Pinocchio.
What are your favorite animated cartoons? Do you like to watch them at Christmastime, too?

Hi, I do believe your site could possibly be having browser compatibility issues. Whenever I take a look at your site in Safari, it looks fine but when opening in I.E., it’s got some overlapping issues. I simply wanted to provide you with a quick heads up! Apart from that, wonderful website!
I wanted to thank you once more for the amazing web page you have created here. It’s full of ideas for those who are seriously interested in that subject, particularly this very post. You’re really all actually sweet and thoughtful of others as well as reading the blog posts is a wonderful delight in my opinion. And exactly what a generous surprise! Tom and I usually have pleasure making use of your guidelines in what we must do in the future. Our collection of ideas is a kilometer long and tips is going to be put to excellent use.
I’m so glad I discovered your site. I loved your post, and found it incredibly interesting. This is definitely going on my favourites, and I’ll be back to read more one of these days.
Although it’s not a Christmas cartoon, “Finding Nemo” is a must-see classic. It’s full of sly humor (like the name of the mountain in the aquarium to naming the shark who attends a 12 step program for sharks who eat fish “Bruce,” after the shark in “Jaws”) and endearing characters. To be high-falutin’, the sub-text, the tension between a parent who is overprotective and a child who thinks he is ready for the world when he is not, is one that makes it even more perfect (hey, if the Constitution can call more a “more perfect union,” why can’t a movie be more perfect?
I always watch The Muppet Christmas Carol too, no matter how old I get it remains wonderful.
This year I’ll probably be pulling The Nightmare Before Christmas off the shelf to. One of my best friends has never seen it and I can fix that.
Oh, definitely a good time to watch animated films. My family had a tradition for years of watching Beauty and the Beast at Christmas. Now you’ve made me one to search out a version of it to watch again.
Um, I watch cartoons all year round actually. It’s one of my favorite ways to relax.
At Christmas, I try to catch all the traditional Christmas cartoons on TV: How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the Boris Karloff one, NOT the Jim Carrey live-action), Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. I always, always watch The Muppet Christmas Carol. It’s not a cartoon but it has puppets. :)
