Funny how the year I’m outside the United States is the year I’ve gotten the most into the fall TV season.  This year, I’ve been absolutely obsessed with three shows: Bones, The Office, and a newcomer that’s making huge waves, Glee.  And this week was a winner for all three shows.  Beware:  if you haven’t seen the episodes of these shows from this past week, stop here.

I think this week’s episode of Glee may be the best yet– though last week’s Single Ladies-football scenes were hysterical.  The mash-ups were spectacular, no other word for it.  I just can’t get over how good they both were.  (I’ve also had Bon Jovi stuck in my head since I watched the show Thursday afternoon, and in honor of Glee and my Jersey Pride some friends of mine and I sang the song at karaoke last night.)  I’m glad Will seems to finally be seeing Terri’s true side, and Sue (played by the phenomenal Jane Lynch) was just so wonderfully over the top.  I can’t wait to see where things go from here– Emma and Ken’s engagement, the babymama drama, and Sue as co-director of Glee.

Then there’s the other comedy in my life– and the moment we’ve all been waiting for:  Jim and Pam’s wedding.  I thought this episode reached the absolutely perfect balance between funny, sweet, and romantic.  I watched it at 6:30 this morning, and it was incredibly difficult not to wake up my roommates by laughing hysterically.  Jim’s speech? Beautiful.  His toast, “To waiting”? Unbelievably perfect.

And finally, Bones.  Not as spectacular as Glee and the Office this week, but still good.  As usual, I’m way more interested in the character’s lives than the crimes they solve– and the revelations about Arastoo’s character were interesting to say the least.  I’m liking the interns much more this season than last.  I feel like we’re getting to know them more, between this episode and the one where Wendell lost his scholarship.

What are your thoughts on these episodes?  Favorite moments?  Disappointments?[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

Interesting, I passed this on to a aide of mine, and he actually bought me lunch because I found this for him, so let me rephrase: Thanks for lunch.

Oh yeah, these are three of my favorite shows this season.

I loved the mash ups on Glee – totally awesome. Jane Lynch is fabulous – her scenes always crack me up. And the Single Ladies bits last week were hilarious. So far I’ve been quite impressed with the quality of the song/dance routines.

The Office. Jim and Pam’s wedding. Sigh. That whole episode was so well done. Perfect mix of funny and poignant.

Like you, I’m much more interested in all the characters on Bones than the actual mysteries (those I very much enjoy those too). I agree that it feels like we’re getting to know the interns more this season, and I like it. I’m so glad they’re keeping the same characters who were introduced last season. And so far I like the gradual progression towards romance they seem to be writing for Booth and Bones’ characters.
