A Shameless Plug: AAR-Amazon Kindle Links

Mucho excitement is in the air today.  Amazon has announced a new range of Kindles, including a basic Kindle for just $79 and a $199 Kindle Fire tablet.

If anybody is buying a Kindle today, we’d very much appreciate it if you’d use the links below to do so:

Kindle Touch 3G

Kindle Touch

Kindle Basic

Kindle Fire

AAR will receive a small commission for each Kindle purchased through these links.

An additional often witnessed error is to produce a private profile with a single e-mail and then develop a organization webpage with a 2nd e-mail log-in since they will not want their Facebook buddies to know they are connected with the business.

I have a Kindle. I don’t order books for it if they are not discounted. I give my books to the library which I can then claim on my state taxes.

Thanks for posting this. I’m planning to buy the Kindle Fire, and if using the links above helps in some small way to the operations of AAR, I’m happy to do it. :-)

Happy reading!

I REALLY want the Fire since I’m a big Amazon-Kindle-shopping, etc. fan but I just bought an Android tablet (which has the Kindle app) a couple of months ago. Plus I have a Kindle 2 which is perfectly fine and will continue to be my main ereader because of the far superior e-ink technology. Wish Amazon had come out with the Fire a little sooner! I hate that all my gadgets become obselete in less than a half-year – including my Kobo which is virtually obsolete now that I can get library books on my Kindle.

Carrie, we’ll try to find a place on the site for permanent links, but in the meantime you could just look up this blog post which will remain. Wish I had a better solution, but for now you’ll find it here.

I think the Kindle Fire will definitely put a dent in the iPad’s future sales. I know people who love their iPad, but it’s a awkward size, too big to carry around as a ereader and too small to do the job of a netbook or laptop with a keyboard. The cheap price of the Kindle tablet is going to have people who have been on the fence about ereaders *and* tablets buying like mad. this is the best of both. Right before this Kindle announcement, my husband and son both bought refurbished color Nooks and “”rooted”” them, uploading a droid operating system and turning them into tablets. It’s beautiful, and easy to carry around.

Apple will always have loyal followers and the iPad has a distinct market niche, but for many people, the size, versatility and price of the Kindle Fire is going to be much more appealing.

Question– Will these links continue to be available for people in the future? I just bought a new Kindle about 4 months ago, so I won’t be in the market for a while, but I’ll want the Fire eventually.

Elana, I don’t think the Fire will hurt the iPad. Just that some people who were thinking of buying an iPad will instead go for the cheaper Fire. There are still MANY who will prefer an iPad.

And maryann, I hope you enjoy your new Kindle!

Victoria, so you are being dragged kicking and screaming into the digital age? I have an iPad so don’t think I’ll be getting a Fire, but it sounds way cool and very functional. Good luck!

Susan, I also like that Amazon is keeping simpler Kindles as well for those who just want an eReader.

Sweet! I was wondering when these were going to come out. I am happy that they are also keeping a range of black and white Kindles. I really have no need for a tablet. The only media I use is text, which is best in black and white for my crappy eyes.

Sandy, shameless plug or not I had heard Amazon was putting out their own tablet, and was on the fence. I am not really techno savvy, and do not even use the “”smart phone”” feature of my current phone. But…..I LOVE my Kindle so much that I was excited to hear of this new Kindle. When I came to your website this afternoon, and saw the notice of the new Kindles, I went immediately to Amazon (through your website of course), and ordered one. I am gonna come into the 21st century like a big girl and use my tablet for books and other media . I think my 7 yr old nephew will probably be using the gaming features. I will like having the Cloud on the tablet, ’cause I like to listen to music while I read.
It should be interesting to see how I do with my Kindle Fire. It took me 3 yrs to finally get a Kindle, cause I like books. I finally realized that liking to hold a book in my hands doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a Kindle also. Now I have BOTH, and those authors I truly value get read in $25 hardcover, and the rest go on my Kindle.
