Body of Proof

body-of-proofI’m hooked! It’s only been on for a few weeks, and I’ve already set up a series recording for ABC’s new drama Body of Proof. Well, if I’m perfectly honestly, I’ll admit that after watching about 15 minutes of the first episode I was hooked, and set up the series recording while still viewing the show.

The show features Dana Delany as Megan Hunt, medical examiner, and former neurosurgeon. Her devotion to her career as a neurosurgeon ended her marriage and left her husband with custody of their daughter. Soon after, an auto accident left her with permanent damage and ended her career.

Dr. Hunt now works as a medical examiner in the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s office. Although the office seems to have a large staff, she’s clearly a star. Each show so far has featured Dr. Hunt and the other members of the team investigating one murder. A lot of time is also spent revealing more about Dr. Hunt’s personality, and her relationships with her daughter and the other members of her team.

While I’ve found the mysteries interesting, it’s the cast that really holds my attention. I’ve been a fan of Dana Delany for years, and she just sparkles in this show.  I’m very intrigued by her partner, and former police officer, Peter Dunlop, played by Nicholas Bishop. I’m also eager to learn more about her boss, and Chief Medical Examiner Kate Murphey, played by Jeri Ryan.

My first memory is sitting with my mother on a blanket in our backyard surrounded by books and she is reading one of them to me. My love of reading was encouraged by my parents and it continues to today. I’ve gone through a lot of different genres over the years, but I currently primarily read mysteries (historical mysteries are my favorites) and romances (focusing on contemporaries, categories, and steampunk). When I’m not reading or working, I love to travel, knit, and work on various community projects.

Not feeling the love so much for Body of Proof. Actually fifteen minutes into it, I deleted it from my schedule… However, I was a fan of China Beach.

On the other hand, fifteen minutes into The Killing, I was so totally hooked… AMC is really putting out some excellent shows.

Missie, yes, it’s on Tuesdays and is really worth a shot. Lee, she was excellent in China Beach.

I’m a Delaney fan, too — and I also like Jeri Ryan — but haven’t caught the show yet. I keep forgetting it’s on. :-( It’s on Tuesdays, right? At 9PM central?

Haven’t seen it but I’ve really liked Dana Delany from her China Beach days.
