An Office Without Michael Scott
I don’t watch The Office regularly, but I consider it one of my favorite shows and among the funniest on television. With Steve Carrell’s imminent departure from the show, no one really knows what’s going to happen or where it’s going to go. One idea that I’ve seen, proposed by producer/costar Mindy Kaling, is that Dwight replace Michael as boss. I have mixed feelings about this. As hilarious as Dwight is, I’m uncertain about the atmosphere he’ll create in the Office.
I’m interested in hearing what you all think about the future of the show. Should the show just be canceled? Does it have a future without Steve Carrell? Do you like the idea of Dwight replacing Michael? (Or what about Jim?)[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
Rainn Wilson is freaking hilarious! Love the clips!
I adore Ricky Gervais as the British Office boss David Brent but I’ve never warmed up to Steve Carrell”s Michael Scott. I would be fine with Dwight being boss for 1 or 2 eppys and then somebody else coming in when he screws it up, lol.
As much as I love The Office, I hate to say that I think the show should end after the next season when Michael/Steve Carrell moves on. I think this past year the storylines have been a bit forced, as if they are almost running out of material. I’d hate for the show to continue on until it’s not good anymore. IMO, better to end on a positive note. That said, I’d really miss the show as it’s one of my all time favorites.
I adore The Office. I have all the seasons available on DVD. I watch them at my cabin over and over. I am crazy for the show. As for Dwight, he is too off-balance to be the boss. :) And I do think that the Michael Scott character is the center of the show and all the other characters revolve around him. While I love them all, I can’t see the show surviving without Michael. I know it would never be the same for me.
Ooh, I LOVE that idea, Lynda! Michael and Holly are so perfect together. I’d love it if he left the show because he was going to be with her.
I LOVE “The Office.” Your clips of Dwight are totally priceless. I think he might be too over-the-top to be the manager, and I have total confidence that whoever is hired will be a great character. The writers and director haven’t made one false step yet, as far as I’m concerned.
I hope they end it with Michael being transferred to what’s- her-name in New Hampshire, Holly?, the love of his life.
