Head Pains
I get headaches a lot. While I’ve pinpointed one trigger (artificial sweeteners), they still come on a regular basis– probably 3 times a week. While I love Excedrin, I know it’s probably a bad idea to take it so often because it will lose effectiveness. I’m looking to go a more holistic route when my headaches aren’t really bad, but still annoying. Do you have any ideas? Do you find lavender to help, or cold compresses? Do you do acupressure on a pulse point? How do you keep headaches form starting in the first place?
I think this internet website has got very amazing indited written content articles .
Awesome. Thanks for writing this. It is always great to see someone educate the public.
I was having headaches all the time, it just never went away. Then I started to go to the chiropractor and he was able to break the cycle for me. There was so much tension in my neck that it made my whole head ache and once he relieved the pressure the headaches went away. Now I go once a month and he puts everything back in place and I feel loose and relaxed (laying on the table in a quiet room with a steaming hot pack on my back is what really helps!).
Funny thing about the migraines I used to get. The only thing that used to help me was taking a couple of aspirin with some Pepsi. Took a little bit of time to work, but I didn’t want to get in the habit of taking stronger drugs so often. And these headaches hurt like h—, believe me. Sometimes I couldn’t even move or drop my head; I didn’t think I’d be able to lift it back up.
The funny thing I mentioned earlier, is that when I went on a beta blocker for my elevated blood pressure, the headaches disappeared. I found out later that it’s a drug that is often prescribed for severe migraines. Who would know? Now, 10 years later, I’m headache free and have lower blood pressure, to boot!
My first go-to is tea and relaxation. But when I get the occasional ‘pre-migraine’, only Tylenol or Advil will help.
I can’t help you with a holistic approach, but I suffered from headaches about four or five times a week. Just a dull ache, but enough to make me feel generally lousy. Then, I switched doctor’s and he suggested it might be allergies and to take an Allegra D a day, which I have. What a difference! Now I get one about once every couple of months!
